The reformation of Makala Dawn...
Knowing that they still had unfinished business to tend to, along with the undying need to perform live again, the band reformed in 2009 with a new drummer. After a few false starts, it was clear that they needed to contact Tim. After one rehearsal, it was just like they were never apart.
Soon after, the cat was let out of the bag, calls and emails started pouring in anticipating their return to the stage. Since then, they have been back in full force, playing all over North East Ohio, and Western PA, with goals to hit as many other markets as possible. The future is bright and there is no end in sight.
Don't make the mistake of missing them when they roll into your town.

Would you like to read about a guitarist that has deep rooted personal issues? You've clicked on the correct link.
Guitar has always been my passion. It all started with KISS, when I was a child in the late Seventies. I first had a plastic KISS guitar that I would use to put on "concerts" for my family, pretending to be Ace Frehley. My first time onstage was in Kindergarten, playing Rod Stewart songs. Since then, the thought of not playing guitar in a band hasn't been an option. Ask anyone. I'm a miserable SOB, when I'm not in a band. It's what I live for.
Then again, don't ask anyone. They'll tell you playing in a band has nothing to do with it. Thankfully, I've found a couple of guys who are willing to stick around, even though they know me.
Anyways... I ended up getting heavily into the Bay Area thrash scene, as well as the NWOBHM bands of the early Eighties. Metallica, and Iron Maiden were two of the bands that ruled my world. But, not being able to relate to much of the newer music coming out at the time, I chose to go backwards and dig into the catalogs all of the bands that influenced them. This lead me to bands such as UFO, Wishbone Ash, Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy, and a whole slew of others. My main influences also include, Scorpions, Gary Moore, Europe(the albums with John Norum), and the almighty King's X. I could go on for days, so I'll stop there for now...
These days, not much has changed. Most modern bands either bore me to tears, or leave me wondering "WHY?" It seems that many of them are missing the elements that once made rock music great. Rock has been neutered, auto tuned, locked in so tight with Pro Tools that it takes all of the humanity out of it, and turned into safe for mommy and daddy pop. Listening to bands like Nickleback leaves me wanting those few minutes of my life back. I can't take it anymore!
Why am I saying all of these things? Is it because I'm bitter, and full of hate? Well, maybe... But, it's also because that it's the entire reason Makayla Dawn exists! Want to hear rock and roll the way it's supposed to be? Buy our CD's and come check us out live. Please? My family needs to eat.
